Where is the Switch 2 SD slot?
The Nintendo Switch 2 SD slot can be found beneath the kickstand. It also has a bit of silver edging across the top to make it easy to spot. (You can just about see it in the image below.)
To place an SD card inside the Switch 2, simply slide it into the slot — metal side down, plastic side up. To remove the SD card, press it into the console slightly and, afterwards, it should easily slide out.
It’s important to note, however, that the Switch 2 is only fully compatible with microSd Express cards. We’ve got a full guide covering the Switch 2 memory cards if you’d like to learn more.

Admittedly, this is exactly where the SD slot was on the original Switch. The difference, however, is that the kickstand for the Switch 2 has a far better design than the original. Instead of simply being a relatively small piece of plastic you have to balance your console one, this new kickstand spans nearly the entire length of the Switch 2.
The hinges are also a mark of improvement; making it easier to use the kickstand and, with them being situated roughly halfway up the Switch 2, means you’re less likely to cause damage to either the SD card or the console itself. (I can’t be the only one who was worried they were going to accidentally snap off the original Switch’s stand.)
