If you didn’t think there was enough to do in the original, The Outer Worlds 2 has taken the questing to a whole different level this time around. This is now a dense, sci-fi RPG jam packed with activity after activity.
One such thing you can complete is a bounty, which is a shorter «task» where you’ll simply need to track down a target (or several), take care of them, and collect your reward.
Of course, it’s always possible that finding and completing these objectives may still be a bit easier said than done, despite their simple enough nature. That’s where I come in. Very early on in the game, right after you complete the intro and land on Eden for the first time, you can take on the Diabolical Drones Of Doom bounty hunt.
While the name of this task is awesome, the task itself won’t reach such epic levels. If you have any questions about completing this one or are curious if the rewards are worth it in the end, read on below.
How To Complete Diabolical Drones Of Doom

Since this is the first available bounty in The Outer Worlds 2, you might not yet be clear on how to accept these missions. When you first visit Fairfield, the woman at the settlement gates will mention the bounty terminal to you. Still, there’s been so much information thrown at you at this point in the game that I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all been «in one ear, out the other» to a certain extent.
Head to the map marker above, and you’ll locate the bounty terminal. Interact with it, and you’re able to see the available bounties you can claim. Right now, there’s just one, which refers to some rogue drones that need handling. Accept the task at the terminal, and you’ll be on your way.
Make sure you mark Diabolical Drones Of Doom as your active quest in the journal, and the map marker will guide you to the target area. However, as you get enough to the marker, you’ll notice that it’s really just a search radius that you’ve been walking towards. That means you’ll have to find the proper pod of drones on your own.

You’ll hit this tall mountain, which has a series of impassable cliffs to the left. As such, start looping around the entire mountain to the right, circling it until you reach your destination.

At the location above, you’ll find a series of structures surrounded by a fence. Inside the gate, you’ll notice several drones buzzing around.
Your actual plan of action is up to you, but I will say that stealth is pretty much impossible here. You’ll wind up fighting waves of drones, with about 20 or so in total. Your best bet is really just to go in guns blazing until the threat is neutralized. I used the repeating rifle, which was more than enough to earn me my victory.
Once you’ve cleared out all the bots (and looted all their husks), you’ll be given another map marker. This is simply all the way back at the bounty terminal in Fairfield proper. There’s not much to note on your way back to town, so just head straight there.
Награды за задания

Back at the bounty terminal, simply interact with it and select the option to claim your reward. Here’s what you’ll get for your efforts:
- 270 XP
- 350 Bit Cartridges (Currency)
- 1 Advanced Decryption Key
Obviously, the only real thing of note here is that advanced decryption key, as it’s likely the first one you’ve discovered in the game at this point. You’ll simply want to stash it away for a rainy day. You’ll eventually start finding «High Security Lockboxes,» which can be opened and looted at the cost of one Advanced Decryption Key.
