The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has many creatures to find, including the Unicorn, which can be found relatively early in the game. Thankfully, you can mount it, but it will require a certain strategy. This guide goes over exactly where you’re able to find the Unicorn and mount it for your travels.
Unicorn Location
The Unicorn is a unique mount that can be found in the Harcane Grove, south of Hircine’s Shrine and northwest of Bravil. The location of this mythical creature is around a hilly location near a few rivers. When you get to the location, you’ll find that it’s being protected by four minotaurs. Make a manual save at this location. Pause the game, change the tab to the «System» menu and then select «Save Game» to do that. Create a New Save. Don’t rely on autosaves; it’s best to be safe rather than sorry.
If you get spotted by the Unicorn, it will become aggravated and attack you. Don’t kill it because it will never respawn; there’s only one unicorn per playthrough.
Now that you’re in this location, you’ll want to find a way to cloak yourself. There are a few spells that can be used, including Chameleon, which hides your body for a certain amount of time. You also may want to change the time of day to night, so you’re less visible. You can do that by pressing the touchpad button on a PS5 controller.
Even with a cloaking spell on, the minotaurs can see you fairly easily once you get closer to the unicorn. At this point, run up to the unicorn that is hopefully facing away from you. Press the cross button (or A on Xbox) to grab hold of the unicorn. Start riding away and sprint from the minotaurs. Get far enough to the point the minotaurs stop giving chase. You now have a unicorn to ride around Cyrodill.
Can You Keep the Unicorn in a Stable?
Unfortunately, there is no way to call the unicorn or another horse towards you or leave it at a stable like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, when you decide to fast travel outside a major city or town, the unicorn should appear next to you. Once it is dead, however, you’ll not be able to get it back, and it won’t respawn again in the Харкейн Гроув. To be honest, the unicorn model doesn’t look particularly detailed in the slightest.
Other Things You Can Discover in Oblivion
There’s a lot to find in this sprawling RPG. For example, you can find the Ebony Armor by discovering Umbra in a dungeon called Vindasel and leading her to an untimely death. You can also become a vampire and terrorise the residents of Cyrodill with your newfound powers. There are many story opportunities, cool items, and quests to find along your journey. Just make sure to make a lot of saves along the way, especially if you’re using the unicorn to get around the world. Good luck on your journey.
