Their conversation is then interrupted by his grandma, who returns. Hananoi walks her to the station and tells her they should spend time apart so she can think about his words. Although reluctant, she eventually agrees, and they both start to avoid each other at school. Later, she runs into his grandma at the store and apologizes for scaring her off. She tells Hotaru about his parents leaving and how it changed him.
When she gets home, she sends him a message telling him she misses him and falls asleep. She wakes up to see Hananoi calling her as he is downstairs. The two eventually make up and decide to start dating for real. The episode ends with Hananoi receiving a message from Hotaru saying she’s happy.
