The debut episode of Whisper Me a Love Song, titled “The Rooftop, Guitar, and Senpai,” introduces the characters and setting of the plot. Himari is excited upon learning that she will be in the same class as her friend Miki.

Moreover, Miki asks Himari to tag along to the opening ceremony, during which SSGIRLS will perform. The band is comprised of senior girls, and Miki’s sister plays the bass. However, instead of focusing on Miki’s sister, Himari loses herself in the lead vocalist, Yori, and claims she “fell in love at first sight.”
Later, Himari gushes about Yori and accidentally runs into her, only to confess her feelings for the latter. A surprised Yori seems to fall back in love with Himari. However, when Yori meets Himari on the rooftop, it turns out that Himari is just fangirling over Yori’s singing and not actually in love with her. Eventually, the SSGIRLS make it their mission to help Yori with her little love conquest. Finally, the episode ends with Himari requesting Yori to sing a song for her on the rooftop.
