The Halloween 2025 Part I event is the first half of this year’s Halloween celebrations in Покемон Go! Not only have Poltchageist and Sinistcha, the Matcha Pokémon been released, but there’s also the seasonal Pokémon to catch, alongside special Halloween Raids and Shadow Raids.

Halloween 2025 Part I field research tasks

Here are the Halloween 2025 Part I field research tasks in Pokémon Go:

• Catch 10 Ghost or Dark-type Pokémon reward — Yamask, Litwick or Phantump reward

• Evolve 3 Ghost-type Pokémon reward — Sableye or Hisuian Zorua reward

The field research tasks and the rewards on offer will change on Monday 27th October when Halloween Part II begins.

Halloween 2025 Part I event bonuses

The Halloween 2025 Part I event brings a huge number of bonuses for Trainers to look out for. Some are passive nice-to-have, while others are active, based on the number of major milestones you reach on your Go Pass: Halloween 2025.

There are three tiers of rewards to be aware of here, split into two tracks — the free Go Pass and the premium (paid for) Go Pass Deluxe. For the initiated, this is a time-limited progression track; you collect Go Points by doing normal in-game stuff to increase your rank and earn. If you pay $7.99 (or your local equivalent), you gain access to the second (Deluxe) track.

Both tracks level up simultaneously. This generally means you can upgrade to a Go Pass Deluxe at any time and still collect rewards from previously unlocked ranks, although in this case there is a difference in that premium players get bonuses while catching Pokémon, meaning you will want to decide whether to pay the premium before the event kicks off.

Trainers will automatically receive free Go Pass: Halloween 2025 on Tuesday 21st October, at 10am (local time). You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards until Sunday 2nd November, at 8pm (local time), although the daily cap on how many Go Points you can earn will be removed between Saturday 1st November, at 12am and Sunday 2nd November, at 7:59pm (local time).

Tier 1

• Free: Double Catch Candy
• Deluxe: Triple Catch Candy

Tier 2

There’s a skeleton handful of other Halloween event bonuses for you to be aware of:

• You can get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts and in the in-game shop.
• A remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing every night during the event (you’ll obviously need your in-game music on and volume up to notice this).
• Pokémon encounters, PokéStops and Gyms will be decorated for Halloween.
• New avatar item — Polteageist Hat — available from this event onwards.

Halloween has arrived and with it comes Poltchageist! The Pokémon Go Level Cap has been raised to 80! You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don’t forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you’re hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

Poltchageist and Sinistcha debut

Poltchageist and Sinistcha, the Matcha Pokémon, have debuted in Pokémon Go! These Pokémon are part of Gen 9, following immediately after Dipplin (which was released in the recent Harvest Festival event) in National Pokédex order. Like Dipplin and its evolution Hydrapple, they first appearance in the Pokémon universe was in The Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Shiny Sinistea and Polteageist debut

Alongside our Japanese-inspired ghost-teas, we have our rather dapper British ones, except Sinistea and Polteageist can now be shiny!

That’s right, this Gen 8 Pokémon hailing from the Galar region is making its shiny debut during this event.

As you can see below, regular Sinistea and Polteageist are a cool shade of blue, swapping to a beauteaful pinking purple for the shiny. We’re big fans and we can’t wait to get our hands on them — no, not because we’re British and we like tea, we just think it’s a really cool shiny.

Halloween 2025 Part I wild Pokémon spawns

The Halloween event comes with, as you might expect, some seasonal Pokémon to set the spooky mood. Here are the Pokémon spawning more frequently in the wild during the Halloween 2025 Part I event:

Halloween 2025 Part I Raids

If you’re hunting for a shiny Sinistea, your best bet is to take it down in Raids, where it has increased odds of being shiny. Remember, the version you fight is always a regular Raid boss; you don’t know if you have a shiny until you see it in the encounter screen!

There’s a bevy of other Pokémon you can Raid during this event, but be aware they have regular shiny odds — it’s just Sinistea that’s boosted.

Everything you need to know about Halloween 2025 Part II in Pokémon Go

When the clocks strike 10am (local time) on Monday 27th October, Part II of the Halloween 2025 event in Pokémon Go will begin. It will then run until Sunday 2nd November at 8pm (local time). The second half of this event will bring a number of changes to the event, including different Field Research Tasks, and a host of new costume Pokémon. Let’s take a look!

Halloween 2025 Part II bonuses

Alongside the continuation of Go Pass: Halloween 2025 and the Halloween decorations, the second half of the Halloween event brings the following bonuses:

• Increased chance of encountering shiny Pokémon in raids.
• Increase chance of encountering shiny Teddiursa and shiny Noibat in the wild.
• On Friday 31st October, costume Pokémon will have a small chance of giving you Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL when caught using Nice Throws or better.
• You can get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts and in the in-game shop.
• A remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing every night during the event (you’ll obviously need your in-game music on and volume up to notice this).
• Pokémon encounters, PokéStops and Gyms will be decorated for Halloween.
