How to join the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion
Вам нужно murder an innocent civilian to join the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion. You’ll know you’ve picked an eligible murder target when a message pops up in the top left-hand corner of the screen saying «Your killing has been observed by forces unknown». To ensure your murder counts as a crime, we recommend using an ordinary melee weapon on your target.
Enemies don’t count, sorry. You have to take a stroll down the dark side and kill somebody (relatively) innocent to get the Dark Brotherhood’s attention. So if you’re roleplaying a morally good character, say goodbye to your Dark Brotherhood plans!
After you kill somebody, go to sleep in a safe place (like one of your houses, or an inn), at which point Lucien Lachance will wake you and invite you to join the Dark Brotherhood through the ‘A Knife in the Dark’ quest.
Some easy targets to kill include:
- Водоросль — She respawns, so you’re not технически killing anyone this way… right? You’ll find her inside the Olav’s Tap and Tack inn in Bruma, around 6pm.
- ‘Adventurers’ in dungeons — These are the non-hostile NPCs you occasionally cross paths with while exploring.
- Opponents in the Arena — You’ll get a bounty for killing them, but this can be avoided by using a Fear or Demoralizing spell beforehand.
- Hrol Ulfgar or Nivan Dalvilu — You need to kill them anyway as part of the ‘Mephala’ Daedric quest.

How to get back into the Dark Brotherhood
Вы должны fight the Wrath of Sithis to get back into the Dark Brotherhood if you break one of its Five Tenets.
The Five Tenets are:
- Never dishonor the Night Mother.
- Never betray the Dark Brotherhood or its secrets.
- Never disobey or refuse to carry out an order from a Dark Brotherhood superior.
- Never steal the possessions of a Dark Brother or Dark Sister.
- Never kill a Dark Brother or Dark Sister.
If you break any of these tenets, you’ll trigger a fight with the Wrath of Sithis when you go to sleep. You can only do this three times, through the ‘A Dark Exile’, ‘Another Dark Exile’ and ‘Eternal Exile’ quests, before you’re permanently banned from the Dark Brotherhood.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that each time you break a rule, the Wrath of Sithis fight gets harder.
