Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows are handy allies to have as they can help you with various things across your adventure.
You will need to progress through the beginning of the story in Assassin’s Creed Shadows to the point where you get your Hideout and this is when Scouts can start to be used.

How to use Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows can be used to find objectives и собирать ресурсы. You get a limited amount of Scouts per season, but there are ways to replenish them. First, here’s how to make the most of your Scouts:
Finding Objectives
Scouts can be used to seek out and highlight objectives through the spy network. This is particularly handy when you’re doing a quest with a very vague area description.
To send out Scouts to find an objective you need to enter your world map. In the bottom left corner of your screen you’ll see an icon of an assassin and various dots next to it. The bright dots are showing you how many Scouts you’ve got left to use that season.
Then, if you’re on a mission, look at the vague directions and clues given to you about where the objective might be (such as north of Amagasaki). Hover your selector over the general area and then look at the command prompt underneath your quest description in the upper left corner of your screen.
Use this command to ‘Scout the Objective’ — meaning the Scouts will search that area and highlight the objective if they find it. The more Scouts you use, the wider the search area will be and the better chance you have of finding the objective.

Scouts can also search wealthy areas like Encampments and Castles to collect resources (such as Wood or Crops) for your Hideout. They won’t bring these in until the season ends, but it’s an easy way to get a nice resource boost without doing much.
To send Scouts out to get resources you need to be exploring a Castle, Temple, or Encampment (essentially, any area that’s classed as ‘Wealthy’). When you’re going through these areas, use your observation command to look around for large resource stockpiles (these are usually marked with an icon that resembles barrels).
When you see these, and if you’ve got Scouts free, walk up to them and interact with them when prompted. You’ll then be shown how many Scounts will be needed to smuggle that resource back to your Hideout. If you’ve got enough Scouts free, use the prompted command to mark the resources properly and assign Scouts to smuggle it until the season ends.
Once you’ve assigned Scouts to smuggle resources, you’ll be able to see how much they’ve collected by looking at the right side of your map underneath the season icon.
Also, if you upgrade the Stables at your Hideout to Level 2 you can tag resource Stockpiles for Scouts and then upgrading this to Level 3 will increase the amount the Scouts smuggle by 20%.
How to replenish Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
There are two ways to replenish Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can either wait for the season to change (or change seasons yourself) or you can visit the Kakurega at your Hideout and pay a small fee.
To replenish Scouts in the Kakurega you need to look for the cloth sacks hanging from the wall. Walk over to these and once you get close to them you’ll be shown how much it costs to replenish your Scouts, as well as how many will replenish by doing so.
Also, upgrading the Kakurega lets you assign Scouts to clear Regional Alerts.
If you’ve ran out of Scouts for the season you’re in but want another chance to use them, then speaking to or helping NPCs you come across can reward you with ‘Scout Intel’. This gives you an extra use of one Scout for that season. Though it doesn’t increase your overall Scout count, a second chance at using one Scout comes in handy.
How to get Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
You can get more Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows by upgrading your Study at your Hideout.
Each time you upgrade your Study an additional Scout will join the League which will increase your overall Scout count.
When you recruit a new Scout, they’ll appear on the right side of your screen briefly and on the left side of the screen your ‘Available Scout’ count will increase.
