How to unlock the mysterious mage towers – Sorcerer’s Rise’s – in Nightreign.
A Возвышение Волшебника – or Ruined Rise – in Древнее Кольцо: Царство Ночи is one point of interest in Limveld that players will want to pay a quick visit to during a match where possible. These mage towers possess rewards such as staves, magic-infused weaponry, talismans, or other items you can use, and even non-magic users may find something of use here.
That said, gaining entry to a Sorcerer’s Rise in Nightreign isn’t as straight-forward as it may seem. Each tower possesses a puzzle of sorts that you must identify in order to reveal and destroy a sigil, that then grants you entry to the top of the tower, where its rewards lie. To help you with making the most of this particular location in Limveld, here’s how to open all Sorcerer’s Rise towers in Elden Ring: Nightreign.

How to open all Sorcerer’s Rise towers in Elden Ring Nightreign
First things first, you’ll have no doubt gathered by now that you can’t waltz up to a Sorcerer’s Rise – also known as a Mage Tower – in Nightreign and expect it to be open. These towers will typically have some sort of puzzle for you to solve, which involves destroying a glowing blue sigil, before they open.
While some of these puzzles are easily identifiable, some are much trickier to spot and will see you circling the tower multiple times before inevitably giving up. Fortunately, we’ve put together this page to prevent that.
The only exception to this is when you experience an in-game pop-up that reads ‘Rise was opened from another world’. This means that another player has unlocked that specific Sorcerer’s Rise in their game session, and it has kindly been unlocked for you too as a result.
Housekeeping out of the way, there are ten different puzzles that a Sorcerer’s Rise can present you with, plus an eleventh puzzle that involves a special, rare version of these towers known as Ruined Rise’s. These are as follows:
Above the front door
An easy sigil to spot, as this one appears directly above the front door to a Sorcerer’s Rise. You’ll need a ranged character – such as Ironeye – or some sort of ranged item like a bow or Throwing Pot to destroy it and head on inside.
Fake door
If the blue fog that seals the entrance to a Sorcerer’s Rise does not have a white sigil or emblem on it, try running through it. If you manage to run through the fog successfully, then your job here is already done and you can reap your rewards; no sigil destruction necessary!
В воде
This particular sigil can be easily missed, as it’ll actually disappear as you get close to it. Look very carefully at the shallow water that often surrounds a Sorcerer’s Rise, as there’s every chance the sigil you need to destroy is being reflected in it.
As mentioned however, because this is a reflection, you’ll only be able to see it at certain angles. Getting close to it will remove it from your view, so look at the water very carefully as you approach a Rise.

Fake Imp statue
If you arrive at a Sorcerer’s Rise and see an Imp statue holding a book beside its entrance, hit it. It’s highly likely that this Imp is fake and is actually our sigil.
Fake, moving tree stump
The pesky running tree stump has tested my patience more than once, as he’s capable of moving away much faster than my Raider can hit. If you see a tree stump around the Rise, and it begins to much as you approach, this is your sigil. You must attack it and destroy it to unlock the Rise.
A ranged character such as Ironeye is ideal for this, or at the very least, a fast character such as Duchess or Executor is best for catching up to the moving tree stump and hitting it quickly.
White trees
If you can’t see any sort of sigil upon running around the Sorcerer’s Rise, look for a group of three white trees that have no leaves on them. If you find them, attack them and the seal to the Rise will be unlocked.
В кустах
Another sigil that can be easily missed but is easy enough to check for; this sigil is found in the grey-green bushes outside of a Sorcerer’s Rise. Look at the bushes carefully and if you can see the blue glow of a sigil, destroy it to gain entry to the Rise.
Fake building attachment
If you run around the Rise’s exterior and happen to spot a small ruined outbuilding attached to the side of it, it’s highly likely that this attachment is fake. Attack it or fire an arrow at it to reveal the sigil you need to destroy to be able to head inside the Rise.

Missing statue (interior)
The second sigil that can be found inside a Sorcerer’s Rise itself involves the priestess statues found in the back-corner of every Rise. If one of these statues happens to be missing, attack the wall behind where it usually stands to reveal the sigil you need to destroy.
Unlit candle (interior)
This method of unlocking a Sorcerer’s Rise features one of two sigils that can appear inside the Rise itself. Head into the Rise and turn around to face the door, then look at the candles positioned either side of the door. If one of them is unlit, attack it to reveal the sigil you need to destroy to unlock the Rise’s second floor.

Ruined Rise explained
A Ruined Rise is a little different from your average Sorcerer’s Rise, and they happen to be a редкий спавн, so you won’t see one during every match you play. These have a different icon on the map of Limveld that looks similar to a Sorcerer’s Rise, but it has a blue smoky effect around it too.
Помимо вышесказанного, you must destroy three sigils to unlock a Ruined Rise. These three sigils can appear in any of the areas listed above, but there are also a couple more places – unique to Ruined Rise’s – that they can appear in. It’s also worth noting that you need to jump to reach and destroy these sigils, and they may also explode upon being destroyed, so stand back after hitting it!
These additional sigil locations are as follows:
- A sigil may appear at the back of the Rise’s exterior, opposite the front door.
- A sigil may appear on the Rise’s exterior walls, above the water.
- A sigil may appear on the second floor of Rise’s interior.
