How to get and use Runes.

Runes in Elden Ring Nightreign are a type of in-game currency you need to collect if you want to make it safely through Expeditions.
Now, there are a few different ways to get Runes and unless you’re targeting a specific method to farm Runes, you’ll mostly get them naturally by playing through Elden Ring Nightreign’s story and Expeditions. However, one method is more lucrative than the rest.

Elden Ring Nightreign Rune farming
In Elden Ring Nightreign you get Runes after defeating any enemy you encounter, this could be a big boss or a small enemy, it doesn’t matter — as long as they want you dead, they’re an enemy and they’ll drop Runes once you slaughter them.
However, what does matter is that the amount of Runes you get when they’re defeated will be dependant on the overall strength and level of the enemy you’ve just defeated. So, for example, defeating a big boss or a Nightlord will give you a bigger amount of Runes than if you defeat smaller enemies.
В best way to farm Runes in Elden Ring Nightreign is to target, fight and defeat bosses. This is because, as we’ve said above, bosses give out the best amount of Runes and repeatedly targeting them (especially if you’re using Multiplayer) is the easiest and best way of getting your inventory filled.
A useful thing to note is that if you’re out as a team, then every member of that team will get the same number of Runes from defeating an enemy (regardless of how much they helped with it). You can also increase the Runes you get by using Relics and through applying some character upgrades.

What happens to Runes when you die?
If you die you can lose Runes. To get these Runes back you need to either return to the point where you died to find the Runes simply dropped on the ground here or you need to defeat a nearby monster that has rudely taken your Runes. You’ll know which monster this is as they’ll have a golden glow in their middle which makes them stand out from the rest.

How to use Runes in Elden Ring Nightreign
In Elden Ring Nightreign you need Runes to level up at Sites of Grace и to purchase items from Merchants.
When you’re out on Expeditions you’ll find multiple Sites of Grace you can visit to level up your character, but to do this you’ll need the Runes you’ve collected from defeating enemies along the way. The higher the level you are, the more Runes it will cost to level up your character. It’s worth noting that different character’s stats will increase at different rates when levelling up.

Also, you can use Runes to purchase items from Merchants that you meet on your adventures. We recommend weighing up whether or not your next upgrade or an item for sale at a Merchant is worth spending Runes on, especially in the early hours of the game where you may have less Runes to spare. (Remember, you can commonly find Merchants in and around Townships).
