Silent Hill f introduced many new and refreshing concepts into the game. While they likely won’t become staples of the series, they helped bring the Silent Hill franchise back to life, with countless new gameplay mechanics and features that will surely inspire the games that follow.
One of these features is Omamori charms, traditional Japanese charms you can get from a shrine. These charms will enhance different elements of your gameplay, whether it be in combat or even while using items.
You can get these charms in the world, but you can also obtain them through the hokora. Either way, they’re here to help, and helpful they are. Some Omamori are definitely more helpful than others, though, making the game a whole new (and easier) endeavor.
Of course, everyone’s favorites are dependent on their play style, but these Omamori tend to work for most players.
10 Kudzu Leaf
Overall Just Helpful

The Лист кудзу Omamori is particularly helpful early in the game, especially if you haven’t found many Ema in order to upgrade your Health, Stamina or Sanity. You can get it from a random drawing at a hokora.
This charm simply increases your maximum Health, Stamina, and Sanity, giving you a much-needed push in order to handle the game’s tougher enemies. Even if you’re fully upgraded after finding all the Ema, this charm will still increase your stats.
It’s a genuinely solid overall charm, and it’s definitely helpful in harder difficulties where you need all three.
Also, keep this image in mind in case you’re doing the Shrine Vault puzzle on Hard difficulty. You’ll have to identify Kudzu for the puzzle, and it’s not in a bottle.
9 Swallow
You Are the Danger

Вы можете найти проглатывать Omamori during any New Game+ file at Ebisugaoka Middle School. Specifically, in a newly revealed classroom that’s out in the courtyard. It’s on the complete, westernmost side of the map, up some steps and through a window.
In the classroom, you’ll encounter new, subtle scares (as well as lore), and a hidden Inari box tucked away in the corner. You need the Fox Pin to open it (which you should have gotten in a previous playthrough).
Upon opening it, you’ll get some documents that further expand the game’s story, as well as the Swallow Omamori, which makes it to where your attacks are more powerful after each successful counter. This can stack up to five times, making Hinako immensely powerful.
Plus, if you’re like me and can time your counters easily, this will be incredibly handy.
8 Bull
R2 to Victory!

The Бык Omamori can be found in the Worship Hall of the Otherworld, specifically in Sakuko’s section. In the Locker Room, there’s a barred off area that you can’t get into. However, after completing the section, the bars are gone.
Inside is the Bull charm, which decreases the stamina consumed when doing Heavy and Charged Attacks.
As an R2-Spammer, this sent my heart through the roof. Finally, I can continously spam without having to worry about my quickly dwindling stamina (which is also the first thing I put my Ema upgrades into).
In a game where Stamina is your lifeline, but so is your damage output, this is genuinely the best of both worlds.
7 Whale
Excuse Me, I’m Not Finished Eating

The Кит is the first Omamori Charm that you’re able to encounter. It can be found in the House at the very beginning of the game, the one with the Bloody Key. You are also able to find a back door key, and running out the back door will lead you to a ladder.
Climb down the ladder, and you’ll see the very first Omamori of the game. The Whale is simple, but will save you so much unnecessary frustration.
When you’re using a restorative item, enemies cannot interrupt you with normal attacks. Now, they can hit you with other attacks, but you can see them coming from miles away and dodge those. This way, you can heal in peace.
6 Boar
Stamina is Your Life

The Кабан Omamori is another one that you can pull from a random draw at the hokora.
This charm makes it to where you have better stamina recovery, and it shortens your Out of Breath duration. Those few seconds could be the difference between life and death, especially in harder difficulties.
Silent Hill f really prioritizes your stamina as a focal point to pay attention to, so it should be something players pay attention to and maintain. This charm helps make it significantly easier, especially if you go through the game fighting most enemies.
Or, if you simply choose to run away, you won’t have to worry about your Out of Breath animation killing you in the end.
5 Goat
Not the G.O.A.T., But Dang Good

Если в этой Козел Omamori isn’t the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) in terms of Omamori Charms, it’s wonderful, especially with how brutal this game gets against you.
This charm is the last Hidden Omamori that you can find, only available starting on New Game+. It’s at the Mountain Refuge, sitting inside on a bench, right out in the open.
This charm makes it to where you take less damage when you’re surrounded by multiple enemies. The best thing about it is it actually stacks with multiple enemies, meaning you could be taking minimal damage if you’re severely outnumbered.
This game throws so, so many enemies at you that the Goat Omamori provides a great relief.
4 Паук
Thanks, Sakuko!

Weapon durability is another crucial component in Silent Hill f. While I personally dislike weapon durability, the game actually makes it pretty balanced and fair, especially with Omamori charms like the Spiders.
The Spider Omamori greatly decreases weapon durability consumption when using Light Attacks, and you can find it in Sakuko’s Mailbox. Just be ready to do some backtracking in order to get this charm, since the key is a good distance away.
This allows you to do solid combos against enemies, leading with a heavy attack and allowing several, lighter attacks, without having to do quick math in your head about how many more hits you can do.
Plus, in harder difficulties where Toolkits are harder to come by, this is a life-saver for your weapons.
3 Crow
зуд вкусный

After being subjected to literal torture, the game decides to throw you a bone in the form of the Ворона Omamori. Shortly after getting the Fox Arm, Branding, and Fox Mask, you’re able to open new doors and reveal hidden passageways.
One of these new rooms you can open has the Crow Omamori resting on it. With each enemy you kill, it restores health. Plus, if you Soul Siphon with the Fox Arm, that’s additional healing.
It’s practically overpowered, especially on easier difficulties where it takes fewer hits to kill an enemy. Even then, in harder difficulties where healing items are nearly impossible to find, this works wonders in keeping Hinako alive.
After all, Silent Hill has always been about making everything try to kill you, so it’s best to make them work for it.
2 Suzuran
Move Out the Way

Dodging isn’t a new feature in the Silent Hill games — it was in the Silent Hill 2 Remake and classic Team Silent games, after all — but Perfect Dodges are definitely new. Players who aren’t used to this may find themselves in some trouble.
Thankfully, you can find the Suzuran Omamori while on the way to the Shimizu Residence, on the left side of the pathway. This Omamori makes Perfect Dodges easier to perform.
This is a charm that I almost always have equipped, since the window for a Perfect Dodge is significantly more open, and every Perfect Dodge completely refills your Stamina, allowing you to keep going.
It’s immensely helpful, especially against the various bosses in the game.
1 Сакура
Беспредельная власть

The best Omamori charm, without a doubt, is the сакура Omamori. It’s tiny but mighty, and can only be found through a random draw at the hokora, given that you have enough Faith.
The Sakura Omamori enhances the effects of your healing items, as well as the effects of all Omamori charms. So, using Suzuran and Crow as examples, the window for a Perfect Dodge opens even wider, and you earn more health upon defeating enemies. This applies to all charms, so think of the improvements.
Plus, when you’re low on healing items, you know that they’ll last longer with this charm equipped, allowing you to heal more for less.
It’s the first Omamori I always make sure I have equipped as soon as I get it, and I can’t stress enough how helpful this charm is at all points in the game.
