There are a total of seven potential assassinations for this Assassin’s Creed Shadows quest. There are two targets where you can choose to spare or kill them. We strongly advise doing all of the information gathering missions before you attempt the assassinations. We chose to play as Naoe, but you can do these quests as either character.

How to start the Twisted Tree in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To start the Twisted Tree assassinations in Assassin’s Creed Shadows you need to start the ‘Inside Help’ quest, which is one of the first two quests you can do for ‘The Fool’ Shinbakufu main assassination. This only unlocks after you complete the first quest in this chain, ‘The Bad Brother’ where you need to meet Ise Sadatame at Byodoin Temple.
Once you’ve met Ise Sadatame, you can start the ‘Inside Help’ quest — but you now need to find Ujimasa.

For the Inside Help quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can find Ujimasa giving a talk in Kyomizudera Temple. We’ve marked his location on the map below:

You can perform the assassinations themselves in any order you’d like to once you’ve learned about all of the targets, but this is the order we chose to do it in. We highly advise assassinating Saburo, Taro, Shiro and Jiro before you go after the patriarch, Takashi Inoshichi, they will come after you to avenge their father if you kill him first.
