Gazorg, Son of Zorg, is one of the earliest bosses you’ll face in your runs in Absolum. He can be a bit annoying the first few times, but once you get his moveset down, he’s basically a big punching bag that you can demolish.
Of course, there’s a better path to take to him that will give you an upgrade to make his fight a bit easier. You’ll want to try to decide your path early, since in this roguelike, just like many others, you can never move backwards.
I’ll cover his movesets, the best path to him, and some ways you can easily take him down or get the advantage against him. Soon, he’ll be nothing more than a footnote in your adventuring tale.
Best Path to Gazorg, Son of Zorg
The best path to Gazorg will be the same one you should use for The Underking. This path will take you past the Mushtroll boss, who’s basically a big pushover, which will give you a bonus inspiration ability to help make your life a little easier.
You can find this path by going down to the bottom part covered with leaves in the very first area you spawn in and smashing the boulder there. This will open a pathway for you to take, where, after a few fights, you’ll be able to beat up the Mushtroll and get that ability.
After that, you’ll come to a camp where you can heal and then head toward the bottom road. You’ll pass through a waterfall zone and eventually arrive at your destination, where you’ll be up against Gazorg, Son of Zorg.
Beating Gazorg, Son of Zorg
Gazorg isn’t necessarily a difficult boss, but his arena is rather small for his domineering size. If you aren’t careful, he’ll be able to lock you into a spot and just beat the snot out of you.
Unlike The Underking, Gazorg doesn’t have any solid ranged attacks, and all of his moves revolve around melee and taking up a good amount of the screen.

Gazorg will open up with a few attacks, and his attacks won’t change much from one phase to the other. You’ll still want to pay attention to the change that occurs; otherwise, you could end up losing your run early.

Gazorg doesn’t get any new moves, but will summon up some enemies for you to fight in this phase. His attacks will change, so don’t get cocky because he’ll hit even harder now.
The video and table below should help break it down for you. At a certain point, you’ll be able to beat him senseless, and he’ll be a regular enemy with a lot of health.

And with that, you should be able to handle anything Gazorg can throw at you. Now you’ll be able to handle him and move on to the next big boss, The Underking.

While this isn’t a difficult fight, here are a few tips and tricks that should help you find success if you’re struggling a bit.
- Играйте агрессивно — Gazorg is easy to get Pressure on when you attack after his attacks finish.
- Use the Opportunities — Gazorg has a few openings, like when he kneels or summons allies. This can be a great time to get a long combo off on him that reduces his health immensely.
- Throw the Goblins — When Gazorg summons the goblins, you can use them to break his attacks much easier since impact damage from throws causes a small stun, usually.
Even if you feel like Gazorg is beating you senseless, it can be helpful to remember that your deflect can get you r to your target quickly. You’ll also be able to attack immediately afterward, which gives you a chance to apply Pressure.
Gazorg, Son of Zorg, Rewards
As with every other boss, like Gazorg, you’ll get an inspiration ability when you beat them and be able to access the Goblin Haven. This will have a place to heal, buy items, and get a companion.
Gazorg is the boss opposite Rudolf, Captain of Stonedale, and you’ll need to always choose between one or the other to take on. No matter who you choose, you’ll need to be prepared for these bosses.
