Fortnite, a game that has divided gamers since its inception. There’s a part of the gaming community that hates it, while the other half loves it. I used to be part of a community that wasn’t a fan, thinking it was just for kids, and I thought it would be weird for me, a parent, to enjoy playing. I was oh, so wrong.
But I think the best games we fall in love with are the ones we’re initially apprehensive about. We try to set aside our initial judgments to discover something new. There’s got to be a reason this game is so popular; might as well give it a go. I’m glad I did, because Fortnite is something I’ve found myself sinking hours into both as a gamer and a game creator.
As a free-to-play game, the allure of Fortnite has to be the cosmetics. As an adult, I think it is pretty cool that my friends and I can be the Teen Titans, Power Rangers, the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more. It’s the ultimate crossover game.
Playing March Of The Pigs by Nine Inch Nails in Festival mode with Goku, Solid Snake, Geralt of Rivia, and Superman is just cool. Fortnite has grown over the years, and instead of being known for the 100-person battle royale, it’s added more modes for you to sink your time in.
Then, of course, there is the user-generated content. Games created by fellow players like you and me. Many of them offer more depth and unique play styles than what Epic has provided so far. UEFN serves as a gateway to learning UE5, a software used by many modern AAA studios to develop large-scale titles.
There are many great maps out there to play with friends, and these are just the ones I personally enjoyed. Part of the fun with Fortnite is finding new maps to play with your friends, so hopefully one of these could be your next outing!
10 Most Custom Rocket Racing Maps
In Particular, New & Updated
It’s hard to find a specific custom rocket racing map that’s just right for this, but if you’re looking for a different racing map that guarantees privacy between you and your friends, any of these should do the trick. Unlike the rest of this list, which will be a specific map, I’m leaving this general because of the amount of variety there is out there for rocket racing.
I would rather leave this as a wildcard, since some custom maps are ridiculously long. If you’re playing by yourself, you might find yourself bored after 10 minutes and still on the first lap, but with a friend, it might be more fun. A way to chat while completing Rocket Racing quests simultaneously.
Likewise, some maps are ambitious and creatively done or have a focus on memes or certain characters from franchises. If you and your friends are tired of Epic’s maps, this is a great way to race in a new environment.
Anything that’s on the new & updated list is recommended, mainly because if you’re new to game development and UEFN, Rocket Racing maps are actually the easiest to create. Unlike other games on this list that involve much more effort, such as building an accolade system and a different UI, all you’re doing is laying out the racetrack and setting up checkpoints. It’s a great way to feel like you’re making progress as a new game developer.
By playing even just a minute and realizing it’s not fun, the creator earns a small amount of money, which reinforces their motivation to continue improving at their craft as a game developer. Sure, developers should only release great games from the get-go, but everyone starts somewhere.
As a user-generated content platform, it takes time to create a map that stands out in the vast array of content available. If you and your friend want to race and feel like doing something slightly charitable, this could be a way to spend the evening.
9 Race 04: Race In The Kitchen

Point in case, if you’re still looking for a good racing map suggestion, here’s one I recently encountered that I’ve taken a shine to.
These are the type of maps I personally enjoy for their aesthetic; in this case, it’s like you’re in Toy Story, racing through a kitchen. It’s a simple racing map with a few challenges; you’ll be done in five laps, and your friends will enjoy the «Honey, I Shrunk The Kids» experience.
There are too many custom rocket racing maps that are unnecessarily long and feature a plain sky with memes or popular characters on the side. You can tell they made the map in less than an hour, added some memes, and called it a day.
At least this one takes the time to immerse the player. One thing I wish this map had was a ceiling to really immerse the player in the driving experience, as if they were driving in a kitchen. I can understand why they left it off, as in big rooms like this, it would have left the map in an awkward darkness.
To rectify it, though, add a couple of directional lights or even a skylight. Or you could add a post-processing effect. Some rocket racing map creators have created skyboxes to make it feel like you’re driving through space in specific maps. The skybox doesn’t necessarily have to be sphere-shaped; you can make it cubed.
Besides that, the track is well-made, and I think with these interior design suggestions, this map could become a favorite of all time for many players. I’m looking forward to updates on this over time to play with my friends.
8 Egypt Fall Guys

I was excited when Epic brought Fall Guys to Fortnite. I love playing the game itself, and it’s great competitive fun with friends. It’s a nice way to test your platformer skills with others, and it’s just fun all over.
In Fortnite, there’s more variety in how the maps look. While there are a couple of great player-made maps in Fall Guys itself, you are limited to creating in-game only.
Now with UEFN, you have more variety as to how you want your Fall Guy maps to look. I like this one because it has an Ancient Egypt theme, and it’s aesthetically pleasing as a bonus.
Aside from its appearance, the game begins with basic jumps and becomes progressively more challenging as you progress. It’s easy for you or your friends to begin with confidence, and then you easily realize, oh… oh no.
7 Maccas Prop Hunt

There are many prop hunt games available on Fortnite. All of which are fun with friends, and for some reason are name-brand themed. I picked Maccas because, well, there’s something silly about playing hide-and-seek in a «McDonald’s.»
Or maybe I’m just bitter that, in real life, they removed the playrooms and now my kids can no longer have the same nostalgic childhood experience I had, so this is the next best thing out there.
While you can play this alone, prop hunts are best played with friends, whether you’re on the same team or you’re playing with each other. It’s a great way to play virtual hide-and-seek, regardless of your age.
This particular map offers an extra edge by providing side-quests that you can tackle if you need a brief break or someone needs to step away for a bit.
6 Bee Tycoon

Tycoon games in Fortnite, in general, are enjoyable time sinkers. There are so many different themes that you and your friends probably have your own personal favorite already. I just like this one because of the cute bees. And yes, there are lots of cute tycoons already, but bees are just so vital to our real-life ecosystem.
When I was in 9th grade, my class spent weeks reading and writing about The Secret Life of Bees. It’s something everyone I’m still friends with from high school remembers, so if I’m going to play a tycoon game with them, I’ll pick the one that brings back flashbacks.
We had the best English teacher ever, who the whole school loved, so it’s sort of like paying homage.
Gameplay-wise, though, this tycoon has a well-comprehensive quest and layering system. With friends, it’s a friendly competition to see who can build the fastest and best. It’s a cozy way to chat with friends and grow your bee empire.
5 Vibe Place

This is the st I can get to that Maharaja from Yakuza 0 disco vibes in Fortnite. Sometimes in Fortnite, you don’t even want to play at all. You want to play your favorite jam tracks or have a map to roleplay with friends and explore.
Or, if you want to make a new friend, this would be a good place to do it in a peaceful, non-competitive area.
You’ve also got a pool, a sauna, and then there’s the general dance floor to break out your favorite emotes. This is a very good-looking, pleasing map to play with friends and also earn a lot of XP quickly, just by staying there. Definitely a map to hang out with friends and chat while leveling up.
You might already have your own favorite party-themed map, but this brings those nightclub, fancy hotel vibes.
4 Conjuring | Paranormal [Horror]

This game is like a multiplayer version of Resident Evil 7, but set in the Conjuring universe. Actually, it’s more like Resident Evil Outbreak in first-person, set in the Conjuring universe. Either way, this map is very well done, immersive, and will have you and your friends screaming while playing.
Horror games are generally among the best to play in UGC games like this. At least since Little Big Planet came out, kids (my nieces and nephews, for instance) have enjoyed playing games like Jeff the Killer or Slenderman with each other.
The creators put in a lot of thought into giving jump scares, and unlike single-player horror titles, it’s a great way to be trauma-bonded with friends. However, many horror UGC games eventually fade into obscurity. I don’t hear about Slenderman as much as I did 10 years ago.
With this game, the Conjuring series has made its mark in the horror universe, joining the ranks of Halloween and Saw. It’s a matter of time before it makes a Dead by Daylight cameo. Even if the hype dies down, it’ll still be a game to come back to with friends, thanks to the effort the developer put into it.

I have spent a lot of time on this cozy farm simulator. This is one of those games that shows that Fortnite can be more than just Battle Royale… Fortnite can be cozy. This game is similar to Tycoon games in how you build up your farm over time, but instead of competing with friends, you’re all working together on a farm.
Solo, this game can be overwhelming because the three main sections are quite spread apart from each other. Earning money from this game involves transporting crops from one side to the central hub.
As a squad, you could earn XP together and take turns doing different sections of the farm to lessen the load. It’s a game where you don’t realize how much time has passed, especially when you’re talking to friends. Once you’ve completed all the quests, you can either leave everything as is or start the process over, as I did.
2 Genesis Squid Game

It’s no surprise Squid Game translates well into a gaming experience. While the show’s themes entertain adults, kids find it fascinating that their everyday games have become deadly… and thus, the only way to survive in such a scenario is in the digital world.
You can play the game solo, but it’s best with friends to compare and contrast to see how far you have gotten to roleplay as if you were all in the game yourselves.
Yes, there are many Squid Game recreations out there. However, this one stands out to me because of its forgiving nature. While playing Red Light, Green Light, for instance, it’s easy to move and get eliminated in other games accidentally.
When you’re playing with friends, this can sort of ruin the fun as one friend can’t play anymore, and you have to spend the rest of the time watching your friend.
If this happens at the beginning and your friends make it far, it can be a bit of a let-down. With this map, you can redeem yourself and possibly make it all the way, enabling you to continue the Squid Game journey with your friends.
1 Zombie Farm

This game, in general, is just an addictive way to earn XP. With friends, it’s like an epic Call of Duty Zombies playthrough. It’s actually challenging to die in this game, as while the zombies get harder over time, the game gives you plenty of upgrades to make you stronger yourself, in addition to various quests. Even if you do die, you usually respawn and can head right back into the action.
If you’re looking to team up with friends and earn levels as you take down hordes of zombies, this is the game for you. I’ve spent the most time on this one, as the XP factor is excellent if the season is almost over and your friend needs to level up quickly.
No need to worry about having to defend yourself from others, either. It’s just you and the zombies in a gameplay loop that, before you know it, so much time has passed. I haven’t found any other zombie farms that are of the quality of this one.
